TAKE ACTION

Leave a Legacy

By leaving a legacy gift, you can ensure that children, not just today, but tomorrow, are served by Angels for Humanity.

Members of our Legacy Society are among our most important supporters because they help secure our future as an organization, enabling us to continue our vital work. Legacy donors make a lasting difference by providing children with the skills and resources they need to lift themselves—and in the future, their families—out of poverty.

What is Legacy Giving?

A planned or “legacy” gift is any gift made as part of your overall financial and/or estate planning. It is a means of making a lasting difference through a cause you care deeply about. A bequest in one’s will is just one of several ways to leave a legacy gift.

How it Works

Your legacy gift can take many forms, the most common being a bequest in your will. A bequest is one of the easiest ways to leave a planned gift, as it is flexible and tailored to meet your specific needs and interests. It is often as simple as adding just a few sentences to your will or living trust. Bequeath property, stocks, specific items, an amount of money or percentage of your estate. You can also list Angels for Humanity as the beneficiaries on a life insurance policy.

Your financial advisor can offer many other options for supporting the organizations you value most. She or he can tell you more about the tax advantages of planned giving.

Making a Bequest

Here is some simple language to include in your will:

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to Angels for Humanity, Federal Tax I.D. number 84-1813813, a non-profit corporation, organized and operating under the laws of the State of Florida, and located in Florida, the sum of $ (or percentage of your estate or specific description of the gift) to be used by Angels for Humanity in the furtherance of its mission.

Ways You Can Help

$50 Teach A Child to Read

Provide a child a trained teacher who is ready to make learning fun and engaging so he/she can become an independent reader and learner.

$100 Fill A Bookshelf

Launch new readers and learners by providing 30 books for a classroom. For kids who have never seen a storybook, this is a gift that will truly inspire.

$1000 Stock a Classroom

Provide enough books for a classroom reading corner, giving a teacher the resources he or she needs to lead literacy activities that build comprehension and critical thinking skills in thier students.

Thank you for supporting educational opportunities in Haiti.

You are about to make a difference in the lives of thousands of kids. Your contribution today will help train a teacher, put a book in a child’s hands, transform a school and give hope to parents that their children will have a better life. Thank you!

Bringing Books to Children.

You can’t teach reading without books. Yet, Haitian teachers face bookless classrooms every day.

A Vital Classroom Resource

Each year, Angels for Humanity distributes tens of thousands of English-language children’s books to schools in our program. For the first time, teachers will have colorful, engaging children’s books they can use for classroom activities, literacy instruction, and reading promotion.

Access to a variety of engaging books motivates students to read and spend more time practicing and developing their skills. Angels for Humanity school partners will have literacy trainers who work with teachers to ensure students read every day, both in and out of the classroom.

Angels for Humanity will sponsor its summer literacy program called Adventures in Reading. Through read-alouds, games, and literacy activities, these four-week sessions give children access to books and opportunities to continue developing their reading skills while school is not in session.

Books provided by Angels for Humanity can be used by teachers in the following ways:

In-classroom read-aloud · Integrating the use of books in other subject areas such as math, science or health · Creating classroom reading corners · Lending books to kids so they can read at home ·
Establishing a library in their school for the first time · Making books available to students during recess · Starting student book clubs
